With over 20 years of dedicated experience in Costa Rican ecotourism and high-end programs, Elías Ovares stands among the region's most accomplished master naturalist guides (ICT Certified). Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Ecological Tourism from the Universidad de Costa Rica and an MBA in Business Administration and Finance from ULACIT, Elías bridges rigorous academic expertise in environmental sciences with sophisticated operational leadership. His lifelong journey in tourism is deeply rooted in a family legacy that began in 1999 around the Volcán Arenal region, inspiring a career dedicated to crafting bespoke expeditions for high-net-worth travelers, international dignitaries, and luxury resort guests across Guanacaste, Península Papagayo, and Tamarindo.
Elías approaches luxury travel not merely as a service, but as an immersive, transformative art form centered on authenticity, safety, and uncompromising personal accountability. His guiding philosophy is anchored in deep respect for Costa Rica's fragile ecosystems and indigenous cultures—championing non-traditional, low-impact explorations such as Nicoya Peninsula Blue Zone wellness traditions, Guaitil Chorotega pottery heritage, and sustainable rainforest conservation. As a proud co-founder of the Association of Nature Guides of Guanacaste and a resident of Liberia, Elías maintains an intimate, generational connection to the dry tropical forests, volcanic corridors, and vibrant coastal communities of the region. His regional expertise spans from the rugged volcanic slopes of Rincón de la Vieja and Tenorio to the remote indigenous territories of Matambú.
